The festival of 2011 was a big succes. A record number of 360.000 visitors where amazed by the festival.

The sixth edition of GLOW, that took place from November 5 untill November 12 in Eindhoven, has drawn 360.000 visitors. A new record for the lightartfestival, whose popularity increases every year.

Appealing
The thousands of visitors every night made the center of Eindhoven very crowded. At some places there were extra precautions taken place to guide the visitors and secure their safety.
Robbert ten Caten: “People were walking a “round of GLOW” and enjoyed the special lightinstallations on the various locations in the open air. The diversity of the offered pieces makes that GLOW is appealing for the young, the old, artenthousiasts, the masses and (amateur)photographers. All those different people together, who come from various regions to enjoy the light-art, gives GLOW a unique feel, that more and more people are willing to experience.”

In 2006 there was a demand of an event, with which Eindhoven could profile itself on a qualitative and distinguished manner in the area of light. With GLOW they more than enough accomplished that goal. “GLOW has developed itself into a prominent lightfestival, for which people come to Eindhoven specifically. The innovative “City of Light” is the perfect scene for the festival. And with a visitorscount of over 360.000 people GLOW can be called a direct hit that is also of great economical value for the city.”
